That's it !

Decided to leave the year by posting something different. By different I mean trying a different style in coloring, but as you can see I left the outline on the bottom illustration, just couldn't help myself. I look forward to next year, gonna try my best to make things happen for myself and I want to thank everyone for stopping by the blog! Thank you for your support! See you next year!

Return of the Hips and Big Nose...

6) Final

5) Putting it together

4) Highlights

3) Base Color

2) Clean-Up

1) Sketch

Hello everyone! Last couple of days I've been going over my blog, reviewing everything, checking out all the posts and I realized that I got a really good response for these two characters that I named "Giant Hips and Flying Big Nose." Not only did I get a good response here but also on my deviant art (a couple of people added it to their "favorites") Anyway I decided to go at it and create a new illustration.

I also thought it would be cool to show the process I take to create my illustrations, since when I was going to school (fresh out of High School and stepping into College) I had basically no idea how to illustrate in photoshop (used a mouse back then to illustrate) and I really, really wanted to learn how all this was done. So, I just wanted to share some of my knowledge I've picked up over the years. Hope you enjoy and hope that everyone is doing well out there. Til next time!

Sketch...2

I was really inspired by John Nevarez yesterday, in a span of about twenty minutes he was able to sketch several characters like if it was a walk in the park. Very inspirational! It got me thinking that I should do more sketching, not always concentrate on finishing pieces. Just gotta have fun, experiment, keep myself creative and looking  for new ways to grow :)

Making a Comeback...

So I started looking through some old drawings and some old files the other day and I noticed that I've created a lot of characters throughout the years (some good and some bad). One of those characters that really stuck out was "El Chivo", I created this character for my 3-D class several years ago and I always had a soft spot for him. So, I decided that he needed a makeover. Top drawing is some concept work for the new design and the bottom pic is from a model I created a few years back. Really looking forward to working on this old goat!

Just for Fun - I-Aye the Savage Trading Card

I remember back in the day when I was in the fourth or fifth grade, me and my buddies would trade "X-MEN Cards" (They were actually Marvel Universe Cards) I loved to collect the cards and see each characters power levels and what not...it was a lot of fun.

So I decided a few months ago that it would be cool to create "Endangered Warriors Trading Cards"...just for fun of course (they're not real trading cards). Anyway, this is I-Aye's card, it was a lot fun doing these drawings, especially taking my blue pencil drawing and inking it digitally. Gonna have to do that more often.

By the way I decided that I'm gonna have to start putting watermarks on drawings with no color, reason being that I found one of my drawings on a "Free Coloring" website or something like that...maybe I should color all my drawings....I don't know we'll see.

Well that's it for today, take care everyone and look for more of these in the future :)

Blog-o-Firsts!

Hello everyone! So this post marks many "firsts" for me...for starters:
1) This is the first time I take pictures of my work
2) First time I post pictures on my blog
3) First time (in a long time) I draw something with a blue pencil and not digitally
4) First time I draw an ATC (Artist Trading Card)
5) And last but not least, First time I draw I-Aye the Savage on Paper!

So yeah...that's a lot of firsts!!! Am I excited??? Yeah...actually I am! Anyway the picture above shows an ATC I did for a fellow blogger by the name of Oscar O., you can check out his awesome art here :
http://backpacdays.blogspot.com/

If your interested in trading with him, just shoot him an e-mail or if your interested in trading with me, then shoot me an e-mail as well...

So this is a drawing I did the other day, it felt really good drawing with a pencil again. It made me realize how much I missed sketching on paper, I'll have to do it more often. So I guess that's all, once again if anyone out there is interested in swapping cards with me, then hit me up! Take care everyone!!!

Gallo Costumes

So here we go! It took me some time to work on these since I was having computer issues, but now that's over with and I was able to do four costumes! Two are shown here: Top one is Gallo in his normal gear and the second one was inspired by Read Dead Redemption. The other two costumes can be seen in the Gallo Pistolero blog. Just click on the Gallo link to the right to see the rest. Let me know what you guys and gals think and if you have any suggestions for other costumes just let me know! Thanks everyone!

I'm glad though because it inspired me to continue working on my western tale, El Gallo Pistolero. Currently working on different costumes for the big guy, will post some here on this blog, but most of them you'll be able to see on the Gallo blog. 'Till next time...take care everyone!
